Today I had the wonderful opporunity of speaking with Carol Sbarge from Channel 2 Action News in Atlanta about the importance of Food and Nutrition. It was such an honor to be asked to speak with her about the job we do every day and the difference we make in the lives of our students, staff and communities.
"Act as if what you do makes a difference. BECAUSE IT DOES!"

ANC 2016 - San Antonio, Texas
I feel like such a blessed woman! I received a wonderful opportunity this summer to travel to San Antonio, TX for the School Nutrition Association's Annual National Conference (ANC). This was my first time at National Conference and my first time in San Antonio! The city was beautiful, the food was delicious, I learned so much at the conference and just had an overall magnificent experience. Here are some pictures from the trip:
The Riverwalk that winds through San Antonio is gorgeous!
There are restaurants, hotels and all sorts of fun shopping to do along the walk. We took the ferry boat through the city, the guide was full of historical information and other San Antonio news.
This is a picture of me with my boss, Valerie. She is the Food/Nutrition Director for our county and the one who made it possible for me to attend! We had a great time exploring the city and attending conference.

Constitution Day Celebration
Georgia Superintendent Woods asked elementary schools in Georgia to celebrate Constitution Day on Monday, September 14, 2015. He challenged School Nutrition to
participate by preparing a patriotic “dessert” to be served to
students to add more excitement to the special day.
The "desserts" from our county were lovely and added a nice touch to the day.
