Capital Visit

On Wednesday, February 5th I had the honor of traveling to the Capital to meet with Senator Jack Murphy to discuss issues related to Georgia's Food and Nutrition division.

We did not get a chance to meet with the Governor, maybe next time!

Let it Snow!

Our county is forecast to receive 1 inch of snow today!  Although to some that is not very much snow, its a wonderful amount to those of us living in North Georgia.  I remember as a child being so excited when snow would come and school would close.  We would stay out and play for hours in the little bits of snow we received.

As a lunch lady, early release days do pose a challenge in the menu and timing.  We have to ensure  we can serve the children an adequate lunch in a limited time frame.  But in the middle of the hustle and bustle, the smiles and excitement on their little faces once again cause us to re-live our childhood days. You can feel the excitement in the air and you cannot help but sing....Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

My Plate is Georgia Grown!

Today I attended a luncheon hosted by the Forsyth County chapter of Georgia Farm Bureau.  They hosted the event to showcase the importance of agriculture to our community.    To learn more about them:
